As the Carmel Wrestling
season draws to a close with only the Individual State competitions
remaining, CHS Wrestling brings you interviews with the our
two state qualifiers.

Q:
When did you begin wrestling and why?
A:
In the 2nd grade. I received a Keystone Wrestling Club flyer
and thought that it would be fun.
Q:
Do you have any hero's in the sport?
A:
Dan Gable. He was a great wrestler with many accomplishments.
Q:
What are your wrestling goals?
A:
To win state.
Q:
What does qualifying for the state tournament mean to
you?
A:
I'm very excited. I look forward to marching in the Parade of
Champions at the begining of the evening session on Friday night.
Q:
To what do you attribute your success this year?
A:
Hard work. Last year, I made it a goal to win state and I've
worked after practice lifiting weights, running, and wrestling
with Coach, (Ryan) Straight. I also practice at home. I have
a wrestling mat and I practice my takedown shots

When did you begin wrestling and why?
A:
In 7th grade, to get in better shape for football.
Q:
Do you have any hero's in the sport?
A:
Not really. I just look up to my coaches and teammates for inspiration.
Q:
What are your wrestling goals?
A:
Last year it was just to make the varsity. This year, to qualify
for the state finals. The next two years, to win the state finals.
Q:
What does qualifying for the state tournament mean to
you?
A:
It means a lot to me. It means that I've succeeded in accomplishing
my goal.
Q:
To what do you attribute your success this year?
A:
First, to God. Then, to my coaches and parents for their guidance
and support.
